Russia-Ukraine conflict: Buildings reduced to rubble as war continues through weekend

1 min read

Artillery fire and airstrikes from Russia’s military rained down on the Ukrainian cities of Ovruch and Bila Tserkva this weekend, as the attacks continued across various regions of the country.

In Ovruch, missile strikes overnight between Saturday and Sunday left many buildings damaged or in splinters. Ukrainian police said they had found victims after an airstrike in Bila Tserkva, south of Kyiv.

But amid the Russian assault, some residents of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine say they’ve grown to live with the consistent sound of explosions.

“I am not even afraid anymore,” said Lyubov, who would not give her last name. “It is unpleasant, but what could I do?”
